Positioning the accordion in new music requires new shapes and a reduced sound body. Characteristics should be kept.
Ella- The accordion that rocks
The „Steirische“, a special type of a diatonic button accordion, is one of Austria´s most important cultural goods. Decades ago it started to leave traditional folk music behind and has ever since enriched various international music styles with its characteristic sound. The strength of this type of accordion is its special sound and characteristics that is nevertheless able to contribute to various music styles. Accordion music has changed while the instrument itself remained the same. The aim of my prediploma was to position this instrument in new music with an aesthetic approach that values traditions but shows development and integration in new music. // Solo project, prediploma
